Back to list of Open Courses

People who have problems with their substance use often have co-existing problems with anxiety. It usually falls to substance misuse services to deliver the psychosocial interventions to respond to these combined issues.

Summary

If you work in the drug and alcohol field you will be aware that around 50% of those people who present to your service will have co-existing mental health problems. Those with severe and enduring mental illness will usually be referred to mental health services. However, those with mild to moderate anxiety can be helped within drug and alcohol services.

This is an ideal follow-up course for drug and alcohol workers who have attended our dual diagnosis training.  It assumes you already have good general psychosocial interventions skills.

This course is useful for drug and alcohol practitioners.
