Certain patterns of drinking, particularly binge drinking, put the health of people in the UK at risk, as well as being linked to problems such as anti-social behaviour.

There is significantly more binge drinking in the Yorkshire and Humber region (where we are running this course) than the national average.

Alcohol related deaths have been steadily rising in the UK; there are now twice as many as in 1992.

Did you know that five times as many children are affected by problematic parental alcohol use than by problematic use of illicit drugs.

There are around 5,000 “glassings” each year in which a smashed beer glass is used as a weapon.

Did you know that some simple brief advice given by general professionals can make a real difference to reducing hazardous drinking.

This course is suitable for a range of professionals who come into contact with people who may be using alcohol, such as: drugs workers, youth support workers, school or college support staff, housing workers, antenatal clinics, connexions workers, community workers, police etc...

Sign-up and develop some skills to help you tackle this problem.

This course is suitable for people working with young people or adults.
