Are you ready to respond to the needs of the Next Generation?
Drug using trends among under 30s are changing.
Most areas of England are now at the end of their heroin cycle… “far fewer vulnerable young people will even try the drug” (Parker, 2007). They now use and misuse a combination of different substances, including cannabis, cocaine, ecstasy, ketamine and a range of legal and former legal highs.
The younger generation of drug users are different. Its not just the drugs they choose, but how they choose them, where they buy them that has changed.
What they want and expect from services that support them is also changing?
This course is suitable for a range of professionals who come into contact with younger people who are or may be using substances, such as: drugs workers, youth support workers, school or college support staff, housing workers, antenatal clinics, connexions workers, community workers, police etc...
Provides underpinning knowledge towards the following DANOS units:
AA1: Recognise indications of substance misuse and refer individuals to specialists.
AD1: Raise awareness about substances, their use and effects
Full Cost: £95 +VAT
The course will allow you:
