Service User Development
Some enlightened Drug Action Teams (well done you!) have asked us to design courses directly for the service users. We have two broad types of programme:
- Training to help service users develop confidence, skills and understand the policy context so that service user involvement becomes more meaningful, and the service users go away with transferable skills to use in whatever they do in their future lives.
- Training service users to develop drug worker skills so they can move into being part of the workforce, or become peer mentors.
