Tom Nicholson - Business Systems Officer

A childs drawing of TomTom worked in the NHS from being 16 years old, with roles in HR, Purchasing and Occupational Health (to name but a few!) and has picked up an impressive collection of qualifications in business, customer care and IT along the way.

What do you do? Admin systems development and maintenance, IT support, admin office supervisor, graphic design, marketing, web development and everyones general go-to guy!

What is the best thing about your job? Freedom to express and be creative, plenty of opportunity and encouragement to learn new skills and the people I work with are just amazing!

And the hardest? Wearing so many different hats can be tricky...

What makes you really happy? Happy learners! My family. Oh, and I have to confess to being a closet video game nerd, I was lucky enough to get a PS3 for Christmas, my game of choice at the moment is Little Big Planet, which is aimed at kids but I don't care!

And what makes you angry? Ignorance.

What are you most proud of in your career so far? Well something happens every week that I'm proud of (seriously!), so picking one is a little difficult but if i had to, I'd say self-teaching myself how to put together a 60+ page website!

Which 5 people would you invite round for supper? I don't think i've had supper since I was about 8 years old, but I'll have Gene Roddenberry, Mike Patton, James Cameron, Eddie Izzard and my Mum, actually my Mum is usually very busy so I'll have Bjork instead...
