Our Courses

Single, one day stand-alone training courses, or larger training packages; Drugtrain can offer training solutions that will fit your learning & development requirements. Our style of training is participatory, interactive and experiential, and we encourage all participants to get involved as much as they feel comfortable to do so, and share their knowledge and experiences.

Beyond training, every learner will receive exclusive access to the Drugtrain Online Resource Portal where they will find resources and course handouts relevant to the training they have attended.

Delivering the Drug Strategy Training

In response to the 2017 Drug Strategy, Drugtrain has designed a package of new one-day courses which will equip staff from a variety of services and give them the skills & knowledge to work towards some of the key issues highlighted in the strategy. As made clear in the strategy:

"Treatment service commissioners need to be sure that the services they commission have a workforce which is competent, motivated, well-led, appropriately supervised and responsive to new challenges. It is important that services have the resources and capacity to train and develop their workforce, including new and existing clinicians".

The courses we have designed will provide new staff with the competency to work in an increasingly challenging sector as well as providing an essential refresher for people with longer experience working in substance misuse. Each of these sessions can be delivered as a stand-alone course or we can work with customers to create a bespoke training package that best meets the needs of their individual and unique workforce.

Courses are aimed at anyone whose work may bring them into contact with people who use drugs including drug treatment staff & managers, housing workers, mental health workers, outreach staff, street pastors, emergency services workers, youth workers , social workers and others.
